A fantastic opportunity has arisen to head up the European Regional Office of this beautiful destination and lead the team to take responsibility for all operational aspects of the destination marketing activity throughout the European region.  Working closely with the Director of Tourism and the other global offices you will play a key part in the development of new market opportunities.    As well as taking responsibility for all elements of marketing including digital, promotions and PR you will be comfortable working at senior level in the travel industry and government and representing the destination at all relevant trade shows and events.    The role also encompasses all general management and leadership responsibilities including industry relations, policies, procedures, forecasting, budgeting and reporting.   The is a rare opportunity to take an exciting tourist destination and continue to raise its profile and visitor numbers and play an important role internationally in championing the brand.

  • A minimum of 10-15 years held in a senior management role within travel, tourism or hospitality coupled with a degree in marketing, business administration or similar would be very relevant to the role
  • A proven track record of success in marketing through the line with a good understanding of relevant technologies including digital and CRM as well as Public Relations essential
  • Highly organised with a good eye for detail and ability to multitask and juggle the priorities of several stakeholders
  • Previous experience of working in a public sector organisation would be extremely useful but evidence of working with government and working to tight guidelines, policies and procedures is essential.  Knowledge of operation of a foreign government entity within Europe would be a plus
  • A strong reputation for delivering strong commercial relationships, innovative marketing campaigns and leading and motivating talented teams
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present internally and externally to key stakeholders and trade partners
  • Positive team player and destination ambassador
  • Highly numerate with good budgeting and forecasting skills
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to lead and inspire a small team
  • Proven experience of working in an international arena with the flexibility to travel on a regular basis both with the UK and internationally
