Job description

We are looking to recruit two Quantum Care Experts, to join the team of expert witnesses at Jane James and Associates, a leading medico-legal company. The purpose of the role is to undertake instructions on behalf of the Claimant and the Defendant to prepare expert witness reports on past/present/future care requirements including aids and equipment.

The expert witness role requires you to use your assessment and report writing skills to advise solicitors and barristers regarding the Claimant’s past/present/future care needs and, where necessary, any aids and items of equipment that they may need, as a result of personal injury or clinical negligence.

We are looking for Registered Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses and Case Managers, who have experience in working with patients who have sustained life changing injuries. This role can be developed alongside your current clinical practice.

Skills

The successful candidate must have:

  • A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience. Applicants should have community-based experience with a good understanding of a patient’s rehabilitation and care package needs.
  • Significant clinical practice to an advanced level.
  • Qualified as a Registered Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurses who hold a current professional registration (Adults and Paediatrics).
  • Experience of working in the community.
  • Substantive experience and understanding of complex and continuing care packages, with a specialist knowledge of acquired brain and spinal cord injuries and complex healthcare conditions.
  • Sound and logical clinical reasoning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels across the organisation and deliver robust reports that stand up to scrutiny.
  • Highly numerate and literate, with a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to think proactively and prioritise workloads, as well as working closely with the team to ensure excellent communication and shared work practices.
