This is an exciting time to join this global travel company as our client looks to deliver significant growth in a highly competitive market.  Based in the Central Region / Midlands area, our client is looking for a Strategic Account Manager. With a need for laser-focused account planning, relationship management and execution, this role will own and grow their accounts. The role requires excellent relationship skills – working with internal and external stakeholders to maximise the performance of the accounts and it will also be responsible for converting the strategy into targeted activity by fully integrating the strategic sales and marketing annual plan. Responsibility also includes supporting strategic and key partners and producing annual destination plans with alignment to the booking curve.

  • Proven professional sales and account management skills gained within a dynamic global matrix environment – ideally from a travel /tourism business
  • Highly commercial with good sales planning skills and a sound understanding of setting and implementing sound distribution strategies working with senior managers.
  • Excellent relationship management skills gained in a global business – proven track record of working with key decision makers
  • Ability to act as an ambassador for the brand you will deliver product training plans to key partners, attend relevant trade and consumer events, and host and attend educational events and conferences
  • Highly analytical with previous experience of delivering sales strategies on time and within budget.  You will have previous experience of sales planning tools, relevant travel technologies, marketing and co-op sales budgets
  • Excellent communication and compelling presentation skills
  • A self-starter who works equally well as a team player in a matrix environment
  • Resilient – not easily discouraged and a good influencer
  • Flexibility to travel frequently to your regional accounts
  • 3 to 4 days travelling to clients/account offices
  • 1 day a month at the head office
  • Clean current driving licence
